There are thousands of examples of horrible people in my profession, the media. I dont stand shoulder to shoulder with them when they are wrong, and their actions will never influence how I conduct myself ethically as a journalist. It is very easy to adopt the us vs. them mentality. Harder is to evaluate every situation with your own intelligence and acknowledge the fact that your profession is not above reproach, safe from corruption. This applies to car salespeople, dry cleaners, factory workers, journalists and, yes, law enforcement.
