There are very few Motorsports special events in northern Ohio that draw overflow crowds and one of them will be at Lorain County Speedway this coming October 4th, 5th & 6th with the 22nd Annual running of the Festival of Speed presented by BioBased USA. Five divisions of racecars including the very popular Modifieds will be practicing and qualifying on Friday, running preliminary events on Saturday and going for the gold on Sunday with huge feature events in all classes. Along with the exciting action of the fire breathing, ground pounding racecars the Speedway is proud to announce an appearance by the nationally recognized FASCAR Motorsports Thrill Show. They will bring you to your feet on Saturday night, October 5th with ninety minutes of unbelievable action. Get ready for Lauren Hofmann, the only woman in the world that can blow herself up more than once, climbing into a coffin filled with explosives and going up in a blaze of glory. Nineteen year old Christopher Ternaux will be doing what he does best, rolling over cars and driving through walls of fire at high speeds. Riding on the roof of his firewall car will be the pride of Strongsville Ohio Marc Ruic who sits up and takes the blast directly in his chest without any safety harness or rope holding him in place. If that’s not enough get ready for cars crashing through motor homes, the one and only Wall of Steel, the Elyria Motorcycle Stunt Team and for the first time in this area the one and only Budweiser Beer Wagon Jet Truck. This unbelievable machine is a Model T replica truck with an enormous jet engine in the bed. The race staff will tie a pile of cars to the back of the jet truck and when it fires up all you see is a wall of flame and molten metal a hundred feet in the air the length of the racetrack. It’s just awesome! All of this, five divisions of racecars and the largest Motorsports Thrill Show in the country for only fifteen dollars and that’s not all, bring as many kids as you can find age 12 and under and you don’t pay anything for them.
