There come times in life where we are pushed to our limits. We get to a point of pain that only seems to get worse. This is what I imagine what my town, Wabash, is feeling. The events of this past week have been nothing but horrific and unimaginable. On Monday the county was devastated by the death of a police officer, David Rigney, when his vehicle wrecked into a school bus. I never met Mr. Rigney personally but I know that he impacted my community by serving and protecting others. My town and my school were in mourning when tragedy struck again. Peter Boone was a faculty member of my school, Southwood High, and he was beloved by everyone. Pete suddenly passed away today. I have heard that it was a stroke and that it happened during school hours but I am not positive. Anyway that it happened it is still an incredible loss and I am mourning for his family, friends, fellow faculty members, Southwood students, and the Wabash community. Pete was a staple at Southwood. His family is in my thoughts and my prayers as they begin to live with this tragedy. The Boone family holds a special place in my heart and I am wrecked by their loss. Both men will be incredibly and deeply missed. Stay Strong Wabash. I love you all.
