There comes a point in certain relationships, whether personal or professional, where words have lost their meaning, because of chronic disconnects between word and deed. And those who fail to show respect will lose it. That is all I will say in public about my recent decision to move on. Those few who know me well both personally and professionally already understand why I decided as I did. What happens next for and to me is up to me. What happens next for BCAS depends on who steps up., who steps back and who steps away. Time will tell. I am not going to meddle into anyone elses business. I hope the place succeeds wonderfully for the only ones that really matter: the animals. As for the animals, there is a good chance that I will be leaving the profession altogether, not because I dont still care, but because I have other interests and talents and many other issues I care about, all of which have been back burnered way too long. I am also displeased by the reckless politics and egos in the animal advocacy world and need to step away from some of it. But I will always advocate for the animals and my find a better platform on which to do that. Again, time will tell.
