There has been a LOT of confusion & misinterpreted information - TopicsExpress

There has been a LOT of confusion & misinterpreted information regarding my recent diagnosis. Please allow me again to clarify & define EXACTLY what is happening~the cancer cells were found BOTH in AND around my lymph nodes. This is actually VERY common after treatment for ovarian cancer. The cells were small enough to not show up on any prior scans & basically didnt respond to the type of chemo used, thus requiring a new type to be used.A blessing in disguise was that my Dr had been doing WEEKLY blood tests & noticed the change in lymphocytes & whites before the cancer cells were able to spread very far!The Dr basically explained it this way:cancer cells can travel either through the bloodstream to reach distant organs,or they can travel through the lymph system, & the cancer cells may then end up IN the lymph nodes.Either way, most of the escaped cancer cells die or are killed before they can start growing somewhere else (this is what happened during the previous treatment), BUT one or two might settle in a new area, begin to grow, & form new tumors (this is what has CURRENTLY happened, only NOT forming tumors yet!).This spread of cancer is called metastasis. We are treating this with a different chemo to prevent new tumors, metastasis, lymphoma or a blood cancer...The treatment will basically be every 3-4 wks in order to allow my body to heal between treatments (of course this is where MY part comes in with resting properly lol) in NO way is the situation hopeless, but it certainly isnt something to take lightly either...I have the utmost faith in the ultimate healer,as well as my health physician! I urge you to PLEASE message me personally if you have cares or concerns,as the misinformation being repeated only serves in wrecking my already fragile nerves...Thank you ALL again for your continued prayers & support during our struggle in the valley ♡♥♡♥
