There has been a spike in incidents of pedestrians being struck by trains in Maine. To all our friends, the Amtrak Downeaster travels through Brunswick and Freeport at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. The new tracks are welded and dont have the typical clicking sound of an approaching train. Additionally, if the rear locomotive is pushing the train, you may not hear it coming. The railroad is private property and the Brunswick Police Department takes a proactive approach to trespassing incidents. Please stay off the tracks, as it may save your life!
