There has been terrible misuse of the word ‘god’ throughout history. English has been particularly deceitful, I think. What you think is God is not God. God is not a god like Zeus. And thus the confusion. A spell cast over your mind to hide the truth. Rejoice! Now the spell is broken. You are free. But you must also choose to be free. God, in the proper sense of the pronoun refers to the universe in its entirety at the present moment. Now for short. The word God freaks you out because you don’t understand what it really means. It’s not a vengeful bearded old man in the sky. And not some extra dimensional being at the start of the universe that pushed a button to start the experiment, that’s equally ridiculous. But there is something causing the universe to exist from moment to moment. Everything is created anew in every moment, your mind just tricks you into thinking it was always there. Look at the subatomic particle physics if you care to. It gets weird. The universe in its entirety in the present. That would be everything. Your computer screen. Your thoughts. My thoughts. These words. Everything. Even your pants. Your pants are part of God if you use the word properly. The only trick is time. It isn’t real. Yes it seems real, and for all practical purposes in this life it is real, but it is not. The illusion of time can be proven by some people having no patience. If time was real, people would all perceive it the same way, like we perceive an object the same way. The past is a memory and the future never arrives. There is only Now. There is only God. It doesn’t really even have to be religious. You don’t even have to acknowledge God if you don’t care to, it won’t take it personally, but there it is if you care to say hello. It doesn’t talk in an I’m schizophrenic kind of way, but it does talk if you know and listen. God has been with all of us the entire time and we just didn’t get it because we didn’t understand what the word really meant. It is impossible to exist and not be of God at the same time. It’s that simple. It’s a misunderstanding of the words. Words are spells on your mind. The Prophets weren’t talking about some timeless being in the sky. They were speaking of time itself. They were speaking of Now. Right Now. Of Life. Of your Life. What are you? You are consciousness. The complete universe in the present, (God) or Now as I shall call it from Now on to save space, (and because the word God still freaks you out) is ultimate balance. Divine balance if you prefer. Every moment that goes by we try with all our effort to upset this balance further towards catastrophe. If the scale tips when we’re on the losing side…well…it won’t really matter over eternity because Now is balance, but it will probably really suck for the rest of this life. If you can’t see major catastrophic changes just over the horizon you are truly blind and asleep and I have no idea how to reach you and I fear I never will.
