There have been various comments and accusations made in respect - TopicsExpress

There have been various comments and accusations made in respect of the BBC’s Week in Week Out programme aired on Tuesday 22nd October, that have no substance attached to them or are pure speculation. The team at Healing the Wounds have been publicly ridiculed without any person or organisation producing any evidence whatsoever and some have made a judgement only on what they have heard and seen. We now realise that this has been a vicious attempt by the BBC to portray Healing the Wounds in a detrimental way and although we can refute all these allegations, we were not willing to be singled out in interviews that would have been an onslaught of loaded questions edited to suit the BBC’s aims. We are a small charity that has helped many Veterans, their families and the emergency services. The many people we have helped are willing to put forward statements and testimonials, but have not been allowed to do so. When previously speaking to the producers of Week in Week Out, we were assured that the programme would be shown as a fair representation on both sides. This did not happen and therefore can only assume that the original aim of this programme was to destroy all the hard work accumulated over nearly four years of the charity’s life. We are currently working through the content of the programme and have clarified all points made to be false, fabricated and edited in a fashion that has twisted the truth. All who participated in this programme have been identified and we believe have been untruthful in their statements. There have also been false allegations relating to financial and accounting issues that are totally untrue. We are gathering evidence to this fact and will be making a formal complaint to the appropriate authorities after taking legal advice. We believe this to be a programme that has been in development many months previous to our knowledge of it and were informed just over one week before the programme aired, to prepare for this onslaught of abuse and false statements. The BBC have also used what could be described as ‘bullying tactics’ in the form of constant emails and phone calls previous to the programme, that have caused an immense amount of stress for all the team and their families. We believe that this is an ongoing conspiracy to damage the character of those who have no other intention than to help Veterans and their families. This goes much deeper than anyone may imagine, the source of which Healing the Wounds are determined will be uncovered. These people and their organisations will be named and our Veterans and fundraisers can be sure that the team at Healing the Wounds will not be put down by any ongoing attempt to eradicate this charity. Foot note... For those who wish to comment on this statement to the contrary, we politely ask you be aware that all your statements can be confirmed as true. HTW team please share
