There is a lot of talk about food security. Food security is, of course very important, but perhaps we need to spend more time and thought on food sovereignty. Food sovereignty puts the ownership of food back in the hands of the producers (out of the hands of the corporations) and ensures safer and more reliable food. It also protects the producers/farmers who provide us with nourishment for survival.
