There is a lot to be learned from this. Not only on how to think about risk and bets, but on how the average person reacts in different situations. Each and everyone of us considers and contemplate on the risk in everyday choices we make, be it what groceries to buy or what viewpoint to take. what comes into play, when thinking about point of view or what opinion to voice, is what we value. If we value success and esteem from other people, we will also be ruled by the opinions that will achieve success and esteem from other people. If we value truth, honesty and fairness we will be ruled by opinions that achieves these things, sometimes, at the cost of (what is seen as) success and esteem from other people.
