There is a story of an Igbo trader and and his Ijebu customer. The Igbo guy traded in hand fans. One day the Ijebu man went to his shop to buy a hand fan. He was shown different kinds of hand fans on display and told that the prices vary according to the designs. There were those sold for 500 naira each, another went for 200 naira each and yet another design for 100 naira per dozen. He quickly requested for the last group and as soon as he got home decided to give his purchases a stress test. The first one he brought out broke at the first flip, the second followed suit and within minutes the guy was rushing out with pieces of a dozen hand fans under his arm fuming with anger. His anger knew no bounds as he stomped into the Igbo mans shop. You sold me a dozen of fake, sub standard fans, abi? I need my money back..! he bellowed. Oga calm down...calm down,...wetin be the problem? You go soon know wetin be the problem, na people like you dem suppose deport...he thundered back. See the fans you sold to me..all broken, none lasted beyond 2 minutes. I need my money back. Oga..no be so..Oga..na original fan I sell for you, na you no sabi use am well.... I no sabi use fan..eh? ..Abi to use ordinary hand fan na rocket science..eh? I want my money back. Oga..calm down..let me demonstrate. You no follow instruction Oya..show me how to use hand fan..Oya na.. Out of curiosity he decided to listen... You see oga..these ones for N500 each, you pick them up and fan yourself in any direction. No problem. You see the ones for N200 each? You pick them up and blow the wind GENTLY from right to left. But these ones for 100 a dozen, you pick them up, hold them firmly in front of you and and gently shake your head from left to right, left to right..to and fro, to and fro.....See am..? Na so you do am?
