It shows my brothers and cousins playing in a barren plot of land just adjacent to the old Carbide mound with items thrown into the garbage dump (landfill) surrounding our play area. I wanted to make certain anyone viewing our Channel saw how we were treated as children and how our families endured the diseases and abuse by government systems. I also wanted to show my children that they may have difficulties but our Tribal Community has been reformed tremendously from that setting, and in spite of some foot dragging, We, the People of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians are Moving Forward under the direction of this Chairman. Jackie McKerchie has inspired this slogan. Aaron Payment has just returned from delivering a message directly to the most powerful leader of the free world about our situation. Other tribes have courted our Tribal Chairman to speak for all Tribes at the recent summit for us this past week. Our Board should put out the red carpet for this effort and to rally our people to honor his heroic efforts when he returns to lead us this coming week.
