There is an unfortunate trend going on in NB lately. Complaints of animal neglect or cruelty ANYWHERE in the province MUST be called in to our complaint line! There are people making complaints to the wrong people and groups. The NBSPCA along with police are the ONLY people that can legally seize and remove an animal. Once the animal is seized it is provided immediate vet care and then an investigation can begin for getting charges laid. Anyone besides our officers removing animals are not only guilty of theft and possibly obstruction, a criminal offence, for destroying an official investigation. MEANING that when anyone other than NBSPCA removes an animal, the people responsible for the condition that animal is in get off with absolutely no consequences, charges, or bans and nothing will stop them from getting another dog tomorrow. PLEASE do the RIGHT thing so these animals can get help, care, and justice. Report to the NBSPCA or local police! 1-877-722-1522.
