There is no Program for It!.... A woman was on the screen nursing her dad, who was 92. She was clearly in late middle age and herself had been a victim of cancer...and what she was referring to was the fact that there is no Affordable Senior Care Program viable in the country....The trouble is as she pointed out that 70% of people will be needing Senior Care and only 7% will be able to afford it thru Insurance programs that are very costly. Otherwise, as she was saying, youd better have a family member who can pick up the pieces. The bigger fact is that nobody wants to consider being unable to care for themselves or the ward of someone else but life happens and sometimes thats the outcome--more than sometime. Ive seen it happen up close and personal but I was lucky...in that my relatives had the money to be cared for thru private insurance....but otherwise it could have been a disaster that would have put a very heavy cost on my family.... The real trouble is that this is not the exception, it is the rule--although nobody wants to consider it. We do need a Senior Care program that allows people to lead as normal a life as possible but provides help when and if needed. And the Washington politicians will willingly spend hundreds of billions for war but not one red cent to help the people of this land! That is the overwhelming tragedy!
