There is no indefinite article (i.e. a) in the Greek and it must - TopicsExpress

There is no indefinite article (i.e. a) in the Greek and it must be deduced and applied where necessary. This is the problem in the text in John 1:1. Many translators consider it should apply in John 1:1 and translate it and the word was a God. This view has merit as we will see from John 1:18 and other texts where he is referred to as the “only born God” from “monogenes theos.” In any case, John 1:1 is incorrect as we see it normally portrayed. The correct translation even if the word order is preserved involves the concept of towards and not with as is taught by Trinitarians. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (KJV). It should read: John 1:1 In the beginning was the word and the Word was towards God and the word was a God.
