There is no way I can see us winning this fight against Ebola ! Right here Sierra Leone is a big success story; proper facilities to quarantine people with infection, diagnostic testing centers.....even some patients tested positive have been treated and told to go home! ..... Liberia what I we doing? Literally I must say we are all dead! Few jingles on the radio and text messages to our mobile phones is that all? See a whole lot of our people do not even believe that the disease does exist. Can you imagine a well seasoned politician I listened to recently even doubting the existence of the disease? Most often we do listen to people with some education saying that this Ebola situation is just another ploy for some people in government to chop money.. imagine this? Look my people it is no coincidence to have five persons dying from a particular household within period less than a month.... Ebola is killing our people! The Liberian government needs to approach this menace robustly... proper protective clothings and diagnostic equipments for all hospitals, clinics, and other medical centers, special facility for quarantine and treatment, training of more nurses,civil education(we really do need this house to house awareness thing), and we as Liberians need to change our minds and attitudes. Let us do away with this driedmeat business..our kids are still eating mangoes partially bitten by bats.... parents, teach our kids about washing their hands properly as often as possible when they are to touch foods. Oh God! My heart goes out to the family of a little girl who recently died from the Matida area of malaria.. nurses at a particular hospital quickly took her vomiting issue to be Ebola, and refused to have her treated. It is so worrisome that most of our people will continue to die of ignorance itself!
