"There is not much choice left for the Natives except to live a sick life . A healthy sound Native will end up in prison I believe . This addiction is a form of self protection I think. Of course the Natives were peaceful people not in order to stress- by contrast -the wrong done to them , but they received the setters and helped them and showed them how to grow food and how to bathe and get rid of their bad smell , and they would have coexisted with the settlers without much trouble had the settlers accepted them as equal human beings. It is enough credit to their harmlessness that they conceived war as being a display of strength rather than direct confrontation and the best warrior for them was the warrior who did not have to use his weapon or the one who even went to battle weaponless. The Natives had a high respect for nature and revered their ancestors and they fought bravely their enemy in every respect , Many chiefs took upon themselves the challenge and lived and died like heroes and did not flee the battle field . The greatest blow to which they succumbed was when they were culturally destroyed , when the settlers started kidnapping the Native children with the help of Native agents and sending them to boarding schools where they were abused and humiliated and taught to despise and reject their religion and language and culture and despise their folks . This caused the death of half of the children and the others were emotionally and mentally injured. Do these people deserve to be better treated by life? Do they deserve to retrieve some of their rights ? Do they deserve to see their enemy defeated? I think they do . I have a feeling life is going to do them justice . I am almost certain that they will live to see their enemy defeated and the enemy of humanity in general defeated and the big lie called USA exposed and the justice of their cause acknowledged as surely as I feel Israel will no longer exist.
