There is one thing, good or bad, about the situation I find myself in every morning when I wake up after a few short hours of sleep. That would be, “Time On My Hands†. I’m sure you know that it takes a lot of thought and careful planning to fill the remaining eighteen hours with activities that are not only enlightening but designed in such a way as to ward off the onset of depression. Norma and I agree that thus far we have been successful in not only planning our future, to a degree, but allowing ourselves to dredge up some of our better memories from the past. In other words, I think a lot. If my memory serves me correctly the “Time On My Hands†(from above) is the title of a Country Song recorded a few years ago but I can’t remember the lyrics or what it was about. Also these words come to mind “On the back side of forever trapped there in misery / with no thoughts of tomorrow, living on old memories / like doing time in a prison, days drag by so slow / for on the back side of forever there’s nowhere left to goâ€. Anybody recognize them?? And no, I am not anywhere near the back side of forever. “A Human Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste†and so many are being wasted now.
