There is so much going around about gluten. Is it good, is it bad? Many cut it out of their diet even if they dont need to. Those that need to are those that have celiac disease. Those that are gluten sensitive feel better without gluten in their diet. There is a test to find out if you have celiac disease and to find out if you are gluten senstive you do an elimination test. Gluten itself doesn’t offer special nutritional benefits. But the many whole grains that contain gluten do. They’re rich in an array of vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins and iron, as well as fiber. Studies show that whole grain foods, as part of a healthy diet, may help lower risk of heart disease, type-2 diabetes, and some forms of cancer. The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that half of all carbohydrates in the diet come from whole grain products. -WebMD Now yes you can get those vitamins from other foods but whole grains are a good source of them.
