There is some confusion with regard to the Montesano Mayors position on providing interpreter services for one of our best councilors, who is deaf. On MontesanoToday, (July 8) he issued ad apology to Marisa Salzer. In The Vidette (July 10) he seemed less certain of the need to accommodate her request for interpreters, and is not reported as disagreeing with the idea that the council should decide whether or how to accommodate the request. We might just have to wait to see what he actually does, not rely on what he said online.
