There is this unsubstantiated news flittering around, that the reason behind Tambuwal and Co.s restricted access to the lower house was because there was a plot to impeach him, thus attempting to justify the comedy of errors we all watched on live television. This is an insinuation and sad assumption. The police acted on information confirmed by Amechis treasonable comments the day before. There were members from both PDP and APC who had subjected themselves to be screened earlier and entered the chambers without hassle. If there was an impeachment threat, Tambuwal wouldnt have convened that meeting. Circulars would have been issued to that effect. Did anyone notice the mammoth crowd and aggression of the supporters Tambuwal arrived with? A plot to impeach Tambuwal would have meant gathering of signatures and lobbying of members to vote, which would no doubt have leaked. Not every incident in our politics is a conspiracy theory. The APC brand of opposition is going to scatter this country soon if we degenerate to breaking the law. Somebody tell me, what business the APC leadership had with matching to and confronting the Police at Force Headquarters if not to heat up the polity and create an atmosphere for the Chaos witnessed at the Nass? We should all condemn what is wrong. Calling a rally at the city centre without permit is wrong. The police, didnt disturb them but rather deployed for their protection. They then advanced to heckle the police because they feel if anyone should touch Buhari or Amechi, mayhem will be unleashed in Nigeria? These people, in their greed to gain power are pushing us to the precipice!!!
