There needs to be a film adaptation of War of the worlds thats completely faithful to the book. Both film versions Ive seen got it close, but not completely, the original one missing the fighting machines, the newer Tom Cruise version being set in America and the 20th century. Jeff Wayne was the only maker who stayed completely true to H.G Wells novel. Love the story and would love to see a version that keeps all the details in. And the Fighting machines still scare the crap out of me!!. Imagine, coming face to face with a humongous tripod the size of a skyscraper who shoots out invisible heat!!. Like the Cybermen on steroids!!. :)
