There was a girl in one of my classes today, public school mind you, that does not stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. A couple things: How dare you not acknowledge the very symbol that gives you freedom of religion in this country? By not pledging, you disrespect every person who died or suffered for that symbol. Secondly, if you are provided with American tax dollars to go to school, receive books, and use school facilities, then you should be required to recite the Pledge. This is really a sore subject and yes, it bothers me. I refuse to be PC about this.
