There was a king who took holy things that belonged to the Lord - TopicsExpress

There was a king who took holy things that belonged to the Lord and not only misused it but shared it with his friends and family. While the man was in the midst of enjoying his stolen treasure, a peculiar thing happened. Automatic handwriting appeared on the wall. Quickly sobered, the man was so filled with fear that his hip joints shook and his knees began to knock. No one could interpret what the handwriting meant until someone advised him to call for a prophet. The prophet arrived, rebuked him, reminded him of what his father did to summon God’s wrath upon him, and told him what was about to take place and why. The prophet explained the meaning of the handwriting on the wall which was interpreted, “God has audited your kingdom and finished it. You have not measured up to a king therefore your kingdom has been divided and given to your enemies.” The king rewarded the prophet for telling him the truth and later that night, the king was killed. (– taken from Daniel 5:1-30) May we think twice about mishandling that which the Lord has deemed holy and consecrated unto Him. Belshezzar was able to see the handwriting on the wall as the Lord judged him but many today can’t see the handwriting on their wall because theirs is spiritually discerned. May we repent for foolishly thinking we can take from the Lord and not invite His attention to the matter. May we not perish as King Belshezzar who heard the truth but would not seek the face of the Lord for forgiveness. May we repent for bringing God’s wrath into homes (kingdoms) by being proud and arrogant. May we repent.
