There were old and young, speedy and leisurely, on wheels, feet and paws this morning at Wynnum and 189 of you crossed the finish line for our 60th parkrun! The results were delayed after a glitch this morning, but have now been uploaded- huge thanks to Professor Alan and his technical wizardry! If there are any issues with your time, or if you don’t get an email, please contact us to let us know. A familiar face was first across the line in a time of 18:51, although it is the first time that Adrian Royce has been our First Finisher out of 40 runs at Wynnum- well done Adrian! Our first female finisher was awesome junior Bridget Taylor in 20:03- great run! It was also fab to see so many new faces joining us for the first time- we hope you agree that it’s a fantastic way to start your weekend, and hope to see you back again soon. We couldn’t hold this event without the help of our super volunteers, this week we had Scott, Peter, Louise, Billy, Helen, Paul and Simon. We also had Scott’s daughters helping out as our finish line cheer squad- they did a great job Thank you also to the friendly parkrunners who helped make sure that Spiderman didn’t have too many adventures! Thank you to everyone who put their names down on the volunteer roster today, we do still have some spaces to fill over the next few weeks so please have a look at the positions and dates and see if you can help us out. As you know we didn’t have a photographer this week as we were short of a volunteer, so there isn’t the usual number of photos. parkrun.au/wynnum/futureroster/ The roles are all straightforward, but important and you can choose which role you’d like to try. I was also asked about the parkrun barcode tokens, so here is the link: bentlogic.au/parkrun.html They cost is $6 each including postage, and best of all, $2 from each key tag sold will be donated back to parkrun Australia- a great way to avoid the soggy barcode issues at the end of the run! Well, it has been a pleasure to be your RDs over the last two weeks, we now hand over to James next week- look forward to seeing you there! Ellie & Hennie (RDs)
