There were times when the Trinidad and Tobago team beat Argentina (1-0 at the Pan Games in 1967), when we beat Mexico (4-0 in 1973 World Cup Qualifier), (1-0 in 2002 World Cup Qualifier), (2-1 in 2006 World Cup Qualifier), when we beat Brazil (4-2 in 1990 U-20 friendly). These are the things we need to revisit as often as possible, and we would realize that from an administrative point of view, these kinds of victories against these kinds of teams are not going to happen when the head coach and his staff present their roasted testicles on a platter to the administration - working for extended periods without pay, and accepting disrespect like being kicked off flights to accommodate Ministers, their women, the rhythm section, etc, etc, etc. From a psychological point of view, these kinds of victories against these kinds of teams will not happen when our players categorize opponents as football gods and bow to them accordingly. Do our players also want to be football gods, or are we content to be simple worshippers??
