“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17”. The countdown has begun to say goodbye to 2014 and to welcome the New Year 2015! Is the New Year going to be new for us or are we simply going to repeat the old year again – committing the same sins, carrying on with our wrongful acts, lying, making the same mistakes? Just because we are entering a new year does not in any way mean that we have become new. We do not inherit the new nature or cannot recreate ourselves. We need to make a decision to get rid of our old self – pride, love of sin, our former opinions, jealousy, habits and passions. We need to train the old us to become new in Christ – the new us who would look towards Christ instead of the world. 2015 could be the year – the year we could decide to walk the talk rather than talk the talk! This could be the year when we say enough is enough and become new creations in Christ! 2015 could be the year – the year that could bring us even closer to Jesus! Prayer: Dear Lord help me become new so that I can have a fresh start in the New Year. Amen! RC
