Theres a lot on my mind tonight. So I think Ill share. Its my dads birthday today, as well as a beloved cousins. (Happy birthday Chels-master-C-sauce: Chelsea Lynn Dyett) My dad, Chad Rasmussen, loves his wife more than anything Ive ever seen before. Unquestionably and unconditionally. He loves God with a passion and his family is his whole world. Hes a child at heart but hes also responsible and hes always looking out for his family. Hes taught me so much about what to look for in a husband. But there are a few other men I want to thank in that regard. Nicolas, although we never got to know each other, I distinctly remember standing next to you during worship at TM and thinking to myself that it took a confident man to worship God with as much abandon as you did. Thank you for the example. Daniel, you cared; you were a safe place. And I could tell. Thank you. Andrew, you and I always seemed to see eye to eye. You understood me like only a brother could. Sam, you listened. Even when I wouldnt tell you anything, you let me ramble and it meant so much! David, my partner. You and I were unstoppable. I couldnt have led DRiVEN without you... Seriously. Which brings me to Michael. So incredibly reliable. Reliable friend, reliable DRiVENite, reliable person. You were trustworthy to the core with a golden heart and an incredible friend. Elliot, you creative genius. You kept me sane by making me laugh when I really needed it. Bronson, transparency is huge, and you were the king of it. I appreciate the example! Of course, there were many others that taught me something but you all stand out. Even though weve lost touch, I still remember and appreciate everything you have shown me. My dad is my #1 example, but a few others never hurt anyone. :P and anybody who says that dating is necessary to learn what you need and want in a future spouse needs friends like you gentlemen and a dad like mine!! God put you in my life to show me what was important. I knew what I wanted for myself, and what God wanted for me, because of your examples. And because of that, Im getting married with confidence that Elliot King is the man God has been preparing me for for years. You all rock. Thank you. And happy birthday, Daddy!
