Theres a tough history of things like Czechoslovakia in 1968 where the alleged rationale for going into the country was to protect the people in it, he [Secretary of State Kerry] said. You can ask the Poles how they felt being protected for all those years. Secretary Kerry is right, by the way. But the rhetoric going back and forth between the two nations is something I havent heard since I was a child. Its the kind of stuff you read about in history books. I cant escape the eerie overtones to these exchanges going on between the United States and Russia.
