Theres another WIP meme doing the rounds and I have been tagged in it by Anna Butler, thanks babes. Heres how it works: 1. Open your latest WIP, figure out your page count. 2. Ask a person (or a random number generator, theyre non-biased - or so we think) to pick a number between 1 and your last page number (56, 492, 290 - whatever it may be). 3. Go to the page number. 4. Add together the numbers (ex. 36 would be 3 + 6 = 9.; ex. 7 would be 7; ex. 294 would be 2 + 9 + 4 = 15) and share that many sentences from the page. Doesnt matter from where on the page, just the most interesting or poignant or funny sentences from that page. 5. Share and tag as many people as lines shared. (9 lines equals 9 friends tagged. 3 lines equals 3 friends tagged). Im using my 1920s spy yarn, Eleventh Hour, which is finished but needs whipping into shape. Random.org provided me with page 79, 7+9=16. Briers, one of the protagonists is searching for the HQ of an anarchist cell. He started with the house. Laying a hand on the door he checked for give, peered into the darkness inside, and at the path outside. There had been some traffic. Water lay in tyre marks. There was a boot print brimming with liquid mud, but the prints passed by the side of the house. Beyond, the barns stood dark and silent. Briers stopped, filled with prickling unease. Had he been spotted? Was some legitimate nightwatchman, filled with righteous ire, about to unleash a bulldog? Or was Andrija, even now, levelling a gun at his head. Briers eased further into the shadows, wondering what had put him on edge. Hands up. Lights blazed from one of the outbuildings, illuminating him mercilessly in his sheltered corner between the house and a ramshackle lean to shed. Hands up or I will shoot you in the leg. The voice was speaking in excellent English. The accent was light but just enough to assure Briers that he had found what he sought. Pity they had found him first. That was 16 lines on the page but theyve moved around a bit. Also no WAY am I going to tag 16 people. Instead I will tag - ummmm - Annabelle Jacobs, Anna Martin and Charlie Cochrane. If youve already done it just ignore me kay?
