Theres no place like Home for the Holidays Orchestra, choir, guest artists take stage Dec. 14 to continue yuletide tradition Corpus Christi, Dec. 2, 2013 - More than 200 musicians will take the stage at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christis Performing Arts Center on Dec. 14, when the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra will present its third concert of the 2013-2014 season. Our Home for the Holidays concert has become a popular holiday tradition in the Coastal Bend, said CCSO Executive Director Robert Reed. This year, there is less time post-Thanksgiving to get ready for the winter holidays. This concert is the perfect way for the entire family to get in the holiday spirit. The Del Mar Master Chorus and Corpus Christi Chorale will join forces to form a choir more than 150 voices strong. Repertoire to be performed includes more than a dozen pieces, ranging from traditional favorites to upbeat, feel-good gospel with Rev. James Gaddis of Kingsville. Ten-year-old violinist Elizabeth Aoki will perform Camille Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, op. 28. The evening will conclude with an audience sing-along featuring tunes like Jingle Bells and Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It doesnt matter your age or religious beliefs, this is sure to be a fun experience for all, Reed said. It is the mission of the CCSO to engage all of the many diverse cultures in our area.
