Theres no way this kid is 4 today! None! 4 years ago, I went to Alston-Leslie Cornelius Wedding and went into labor. Thank you Clay Riley for driving to the wedding 294958383 miles per hour to get us there on time. I realized right when I sat down that contractions had started. I sat through wedding and of course people asked me when I was having baby and I responded that possibly that day lol. I then went to my baby shower that some amazing women of Throckmorton threw for me. Still in labor. Contractions sped up so the baby shower had to as well. I think my mother in law Tammie Riley was a little nervous and anxious. Her and my awesome sister and law Talley Dixon were running around organizing things and doing my dishes like chickens with their heads got off. My mom Carolyn Viertel was sure I was in labor and freaking me out with her anxiousness. I still wasnt 100% sure so I decided to just take it easy and did as little as I could. My brother in law, Cole Parker Riley decided him and Clay should go to the beer store. Clay wisely, said he probably should stay home. I may have encouraged that with dirty looks lol. We went to bed and about 10 minutes after Clay had fallen asleep, I told him we should go. He was thoroughly impressed. We left for the hospital. We live 70 miles away from my hospital so that was an interesting and bumpy ride. We got there and I asked for epidermal right off. No one informed me it would take an hour for anesthesiologist to get there. Then when he did, the lady down the hall was further along than me. I said some not very nice things as anyone who knows me can imagine. Then it was time. I knew it was but the nurses insisted that I did not know what I was talking about. Tammie quickly informed them with her mama bear voice that they were wrong and it was time lol. I swear that kid wanted out to see his daddy. He came 3 weeks early on the dot. If I would have waited to go to hospital a couple more hours, he would have been had in our bed. Clay was not all about that idea lol. I made the mistake of making a deal with Dale Rile that if I had him on his birthday, he was his. Well did I ever anticipate that I would go into labor three weeks early and through the night to Dales bday...NO. lol silly me. Caysen Lane was not planned. In fact I freaked out and Clay celebrated when we found out I was pregnant. But he was such a good baby and such an animated child. Hes just like his daddy...terrifying I know. But pieces of his uncle Fred come out too. Mostly his temper. (Lol love you fred). Hes our only boy out of 3 girls. He loves his sisters so much. He protects Halli like Ive never seen. Hes obsessed with his baby cousins Kash and Callen AND Cody. Though he swears Kash is his twin brother. He loves being with his family. Hes so active. He already wants to go fast, play hard, take things apart, work like his daddy and take care of everyone. We are so blessed to have him. He pushes my buttons...daily. I swear that kid is way to smart. But I wouldnt change him a bit. 4 years. Im terrified to see how smart and strong willed hell be in 4 more years. Happy birthday Caysen Lane.
