There’s nothing worse than getting in your car and finding out - TopicsExpress

There’s nothing worse than getting in your car and finding out the hard way that your car won’t start. A common problem is a dead battery, but how can you be sure? The easiest way is to keep a hydrometer in your car. There are two kinds of hydrometers: the first will read out a number, the second has a number of floating balls. If you’re using the first kind and the number is at 1.265, the battery is fully charged, 1.200 indicates a 50% charge, and 1.140 or below indicates that the battery is dead. As for the floating balls, four floating balls indicate a full charge, two indicate a half charge, and 0 indicates a dead battery.
