These are the moments that truly test my faith. Joslynn and - TopicsExpress

These are the moments that truly test my faith. Joslynn and Charlie are down at CHLA. Sawyer is with my in-laws, and Makayla and I are at home. Charlie has already been taken back into the procedure. So regardless of whether or not we drive down there, we wouldnt get to see Charlie and there is absolutely nothing we can do but wait and hope everything goes alright. This is normal life for heart families. We have had so many friends go through similar and even worse situations, with one parent staying at the hospital, while the other stays back home (3 plus hours away) with the kids to handle school, work and other things. In a perfect world, parents with heart babies could put work, school and all of the other pressures of life on the back burner, to focus on their children... because ultimately our families are the most important thing. Unfortunately, that isnt how life works, and without things like work we wouldnt be able to provide medical coverage and the necessities for our babies. At a time when a family truly needs to stay together, the only realistic option most of the time is to split up and try to cover all the bases. Realizing that stressful and scary days like today is a regular part of our familys normal life for the forseeable future has finally sunken in. Joslynn has lot easier time keeping the faith than I do, but Im pretty sure that one of the reasons God put Charlie in our lives, was to teach me to have faith. So even though Joslynn is normally the one that says this... I am going to try harder today to have faith and trust in the words Yes to Your will, Yes to Your ways, I lift up my hands and say Yes!
