These counties KNEW there were issues with drainage and have done NOTHING to improve the sitaution. They will call it an act of God. Home owners insurance wont cover unless you have a flood waiver. And hundreds of thousands of people will lose tens of millions in damage. We need to wake up people! Start voting people in who actually CARE about the citizens and not about lining their pockets. This could have been prevented and has been warned numerous times. Until we stand up and fight together NOTHING WILL CHANGE! Our sewer systems can NOT support this kind of down pour. And this wasnt even bad compared to what weve had in the past, so why now? Because the cities and counties keep allowing the building of more and more houses and businesses without ever taking in the consideration of the toll put on our sewage and draining systems. Westland learned that with the 40 million they just lost to all of us whose houses flooded and then class action sued over the may 2011 floodings. Stand up people. Go to your council meetings. Be loud. Until we do, the government will never help us.
