These photos show my bike after the front forks fatigued and gave out, which locked up the front wheel by butting it up against the frame and proceeded to body slam my face in the concrete! (YES! I had a brain bucket on!) That being said, I GOTTA do something much more stronger than the weak sauce stock front forks. Ideas anyone? 1 1/8 headset, would like to go threadless and chrome-moly for strength. 26 wheels with front disc. I tend to think (albeit somewhat ignorant on this type of ride) that I would prefer a beefy suspension fork (Marzocci or Fox, etc.?), but dont want the frame to suffer as a next-of-kin result. Is a Surly 1x1 or Kona Project 2 rigid fork better? Please help me here, Im too banged up to make an error of aesthetics over function here! Thanks!!
