These photos were taken yesterday at the United Daughters of the Confederacy Military Service awards ceremony held at Dellrose,TN followed by the dedication of a CSA Iron Cross at Bethany cemetery in Giles County,TN. The UDC Zollicoffer-Fulton Chapter invited my Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp no. 152 to assist in this beautiful ceremony. I am serving my third year as Commander of Camp 152,and my 34th year as a member of the SCV. My son Matthew is serving as Second Lt. Commander of the camp.My wife Kristin is a 34 year member of the UDC ( she is wearing the black checkered skirt and black shawl and hat and holding a parasol. The six military service awards were presented posthumously to the two Great Grandsons ( WWII Veterans) of Confederate Veteran- Sgt. Henry Watson of the 3rd Tennessee Infantry Regiment CSA and to the living three Great Great Grandsons that served in the Vietnam War and to one Great Great Grandson that served in Iraq( He is a Staff Sgt. still serving, he is wearing his dress blue uniform). We enjoyed a nice lunch after the presentation ceremony, and then drove to Bethany cemetery. After all the formal dedication part was over my son and two other members of the SCV installed the iron cross in cement.
