These three have been jailed for a total of almost 15 years for violently assaulting a man in his Peterborough home. Wiktor Broda, 21, Pawel Kowalski, 38, of Gladstone Street, and Kamil Szpikowski, 18, of Tower Court, attacked the 30 year old at an address in Burmer Road in the early hours of November 10 last year. Broda, also of Burmer Road, claimed he had called in his friends after learning the victim had assaulted his girlfriend. The men burst into the home after the victim had answered a knock on the door shortly after midnight. They carried out a violent beating which left the victim with severe bruising and a broken cheek bone. Three laptops were also stolen during the attack and one of the victims housemates was threatened. The computers were later recovered. All three were arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm. They denied the charges but were convicted following a trial at Peterborough Crown Court. Broda and Kowalski were each jailed for five years while Szpikowski was sentenced to four and a half years behind bars on Friday (July 11). All three will be deported on completion of their sentences.
