They dusted off their 1960s protest placards for Grenada, the Persian Gulf War, and Iraq. They donned their ty-dye. The broke out the 7 Bob Dylan records town ordinance requires them to keep. All to make it look good. They are the Clifton Mob. Now, I once carried a placard for my right to marry in a crummy demonstration in the rain. I own one piece of ty-dye, a Marijuana Anonymous T-shirt. And I am quite proud of my Dylan album my fiancée got me for Christmas, and am a veteran of precisely one of his concerts where he played “The Masters of War” on acoustic to those of us sitting in the summer rain at Nautica State in Cleveland, Ohio in 1994. Of course I served 13 years and 10 months enlisted and officer, airborne, in the Guard and Reserves. I have worked for Republican issues, Democratic issues, and Green issues. I am sick and tired of these bunk heads who have been ripping us all off, left, right, and center for decades. In the 1970s a high school of top grade was planted nearby to service their community. Robinson Secondary School was named for a Vietnam Conflict veteran who posthumously was awarded the Medal of Honor. Members of the student body would brag when they were invited to a Clifton Debutant Ball, or to one of the homes of the Zillionaire attorneys who populated the area. It was dubbed red neck heaven because new recruits to the area became instant Billionaires, complete with mini-farms, just by signing a political pledge. NSA, Lockheed-Martin, almost any agency you can name came to roost, and they spread their wings down I-66 West. Yes these are the people who brought you the domestic spy scandals and the 163 Billion cost over run on the F-35. They once offered to hire me into the Intelligence Community – a ride in an A-7K and $65,000 a year to start in 1988. Lots of money but not enough to buy this then National Guardsman’s morals – and I told them just that, I was a patriot. I later learned that the recruiter retired to Carmel-by-the-Sea, some of the most expensive real estate in the world. It was common for them to recruit their foot soldiers from the poor to middle class communities of places like Western Pennsylvania. The cost over run on the F-35 is contractor and DOD magic called RDT&E. Research, Design, Test, & Evaluation, and don’t forget the advertising money to get us to like the stuff; all this is a tax write off for the contractor AND it is NOT figured into the cost per unit when the thing (if) is produced. If 163 Billion, according to CBS News is the over run – what was the original cost that was burned up in RDT&E? True to their lefty ethos, they tell us the thing will be so powerful as to guarantee permanent world peace. They have spent so much money on it that no one dare admit a wrong and cancel it. That’s my view anyway.
