They had us watch this video with first and second year teachers at Teacher Induction this week. I remembered that day I walked into Jans office in November to tell her I was quitting because I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to teach those first graders how to read; I wasnt sure if I was good enough for the job. She, obviously, didnt let that happen. I dont think people will ever understand what teaching really involves until they walk in a teachers shoes. Teaching is the most amazing, rewarding job on planet earth, and I am so glad Jan didnt let me give up... Being a teacher is who I am, not just what I do...
