They put on courageous faces & Return home to a world unknown. Some with traumatic brain injures, double apmutees, PTSD. Some are homeless, even suicidal. Violence, Rape, substance abuse these are some of the realities of veteran life. The faces of our brave men & women! My fathers one of these courageous folk! My fathers has served 30+ years in the military. Hes a retired lutinate colonel Judge advocate General. Hes diligently served our country. A flawless military record All kinds of awards won. Now retired, we face as a family a different life transition alongside him. The gratitude shown for my fathers service is wonderful. But Where does the thanks given apply to his everyday life. the roar from applause fade. Parades end welcome home banners taken down, all these are fleeting. The reality is When my father fell ill the military treated my father as if he were disposable. Rushing him to retire because he fell ill. Is this how we treat our veterans our heros? Its criminal that any veteran should go without! We should all be outraged that their are military service member who are homeless, this should not be allowed to happen on Americans soil! Putting a car magnet on your car isnt enough people! Americans have you forgotten the life lost? The blood shed for your daily freedoms? Freedom is not free people! Loved ones of military service members carry the same wounds of their loved ones. Theyre the caretakers the baraers of wounds both seen & unseen. So tomorrow on veterans day, I hope you all feel compelled to act! Go beyond the measure because these men & women did so for all us so we could have freedoms! # Thank You Dad I Love you# Thank you men & women for your servitude to our county# I appreciate you & your sacrifice# Youre not forgotten# Proud military Daughter#
