They say a funeral should be a celebration of life. I went to my grandmothers funeral a year ago and celebrated her being here for 88 years. I was at peace because i knew she was no longer living in pain. But today, as I leave my former students funeral, I am filled with anger and confusion. Im confused because I dont know why and Im angry because I dont understand how a kid full of potential was taken away so young. A parent should not have to bury his/her child--especially an 18 yr old. I dont know what an 18 year could have possibly done where the situation could not be hashed out without violence. Why cant ppl talk out their differences or better yet, handle it one on one and play XBOX together after? How many more Kids have to lose their lives and how many more tears have to be shed? Even though this is my fifth student to pass, I am not immune nor numb to the violence. I am saddened n hurt that a good kid was taken away at a young age. My heart goes out to the friends n family of LP...
