Thierry Henry achieved much during a glittering career for club and country – but hes revealed playing alongside Steven Gerrard would have been a dream. The mutual respect between the former Arsenal and Barcelona legend and Anfields No.8 is renowned, with the pair enjoying an off-the-pitch friendship despite their many on-field battles over the years. Henry, who hung up his boots at the end of last year, admits he would have loved to have had his goalscoring ammunition supplied by Gerrard. The 37-year-old said: We had so many battles and I always used to say to him: It would have been an honour to play with you. He is the dream for any striker. Ask Fernando Torres. Ask Luis Suarez. Ask any striker who has played with him. He still does it. That through-ball along the ground or in the air is a dream for any striker.
