Things I did today at the "Taste of Scotland Festival": * Listened live to powerful bagpipes, ulene pipes, dulcimers, and other celtic instruments * Felt the intricacies of a demonstrated weaving loom and its products for sale * Watched traditional Scottish competition dancers * Observe sheepdogs herding sheep and ducks * Bought beaded leather sinch ponytail straps loosely modeled on Scottish mens hair thongs * Ate ground beef with onions in a pastry termed a meat “bridie” * Researched my step-sister’s clan heritage at our historical Scottish Tartan Museum * Purchased handmade natural soap and lip gloss * Stayed out of the way of the guys in the Highlander Games who were throwing big heavy objects * Did not snatch up the dolls in the oh-so-adorable custom Scottish clothes * Absolutely did not bring home a kilt – Why can’t they remember to sell the garments for women at these events? -- or someone wearing a kilt * Began planning what to see next year. After all, who could make all the rounds of food and fun in the one day I had to pack it all in? Blessed are those who get to experience all four days! tasteofscotlandfestival.org/Festival/
