Things going well in Indonesian case although we are under huge pressure and technology with printing and photocopying is strained. Huge working days 10.00am to 1.30am at Semarang on this Admiralty law case I am making the clients and assistants stay to then too. The clients have never seen so much legal work done on their case before. They spent 4 years trying to get a lawyer and had no idea what typing affidavits involved. My Indonesian PA Maya made a schedule for me to see the clients its so full we wonder if we can do it. I may not get to leave the hotel we are so busy. We needed an a photocopy girl and had two PAs Maya and a man both are extremely competent and clever professionals so there will be 3 assistants now coming tomorrow to help me with 3 to 5 clients for our appointments to type their affidavits and do translations. It a long time to do 1st two affidavits of 24 pages each as everything had to be translated many times to ensure correct. Biggest delay was printers issues. Then we could not get the completed affidavits sworn same day and so those client have to come back another day while we locate a notary. I had to pay for them to stay overnight at the hotel as a it became a two day event not the 3 hours they thought. Two printers broke our new one that was brought on 31/1/2104 and the hotels one in the business center . We got one fixed today. I went on a bicycle thing with a man pushing me and my PA and the printer in a box covered in plastic in pouring rain to see if can get a better printer but we have the best and it photocopies only one page at a time but at least he fixed it. It also has no paper tray so spits the paper on the floor so someone has to sit with the printer to comfort it to work. Two Indonesian lawyers came 31/1/2 2014 keen to help me but couldnt as turns out I need a notary public instead of a lawyer to take an oath here in Indonesia so have to book one at end of trip rather than swear as we go. I came to do 13 affidavits in 11 days and some other meetings. But now have 24 main affidavits to do and some need high court fee waiver affidavits as well so thats 48 affidavits to type in total in 8 days. The 2 bigger affidavit were 24 pages each. We are translating in the documents English paragraph then Indonesian paragraph. We decided it may be quicker to do Indonesian and then English translation so trying that tomorrow. I have a client flying in from Borneo to see me in Semarang. The hotel staff are fantastic and my clients are really nice people. Hotel facilities area good. The lounge are in the suite is good actually allows three to four areas for working spaces plus a private bedroom. Another lawyer would have helped could wiz through then with the aid of these highly educated motivated assistants. The extra baggage problem will be serious as paper is heavy and its all coming he with me. Anyway all good now 2.00am time for bed.
