Think Ill point out an observation of mine this morning and then we can have a friendly chat about why Im wrong... I really dont know if is want my children to be taught about either of these things at school... Im not sure I trust teachers to understand my beliefs or interpretations of either of these things... My town is full of different churches, some have very different views and interpretations of the Bible than me, for example, (heres a news flash) I dont feel like its necessary to never cut my hair or wear make up or only wear dresses skirts, I want my daughter and son to feel equal to everyone and personally I dont think God judges us on what we wear...but there may be a teacher that has that exact belief--should my child be exposed to that for an entire year? Every week school and Sunday school be a battle of who is right? Church is where I believe kids should learn--that way parents have a choice in the particulars...same thing with guns...Im not sure I want public school system teaching my kids that one type of gun or hunting is superior...Im not sure I trust anyone enough to handle a gun around my child while not in my presence. Guns are for hunting and defense to me, so as such a gun is my right, so a simple weapon that gets the meat and can disable a bad guy ought to suffice--dont really want someone I dont know too well telling my kids that we need a gun that spits 10 bullets a second is the only way to go... This is why I feel these two things are best taught by family.... Feel free to tell my why Im wrong, I have always known I was destined to be wrong at some point... Lol
