Think The Fugitive, but with the added mission of saving a childs life. I enjoyed this 16-episode Korean drama about a simple-minded (not stupid, just not motivated) member of a crime organization who is framed for murder on the same day that he learns he can be the bone marrow donor for his daughter. As the story unfolds, he goes from freaked-out pawn to canny hunter, turning the tables on the baddies and taking control. In addition to being an action-packed mystery/thriller, its a love story, but not a romance. Although we see pieces of the romance between the main character and his childs mother via flashbacks, the love story is between father and daughter. (It can be almost too sweet at times, but the little girl is so cute/smart that I didnt mind that much.) While hes on the run, she accompanies him as a projection of his own thoughts, talking him out of doldrums or helping him piece together information. Recommended viewing. Subtitled. Its going on my to buy list whenever the DVD set is available. By the way, in one episode, as the protagonist is adjusting his escape plan, he recalls a short scene featuring Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. Win!
