Think of the blind who are alone in their blind community. They - TopicsExpress

Think of the blind who are alone in their blind community. They are cut off from the normal society due to the barrier of written communication. Are we discriminating them though we have an ability to give them their rights up to some level? First step: Let them feel that they are not alone and they are of the same society of ours without any difference. To do this (a) we the non blind should learn Braille and (b) send short messages of goodwill to them (3) giving them the feeling that there are persons other than the blind who cares them. Second Step: Building strong and true friendships giving our helping hand for their needs. One example: There are blind students who are facing the same exams as we do following the same syllabuses. But they have very few resources when compared with ours as limited library facilities, teachers or fellow students to do combined studies. If the non blind students are aware of this situation, I am sure they will volunteer to help these innocents with their knowledge. There are about 40 million members in the World Organization of the Scout Movement too and each and every member of them have experienced, knows and believes what Lord Baden Powell said The real way to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people. I have already started to train scouts successfully within a few hours time to write, read and send messages in Braille even without the standard slates and styli (as they are expensive) but with the self made slates and styli without any costs but in small scale as my capacity. It is so easy and interesting to learn Braille in my way.
