Thinking a lot about time this evening ... Started this evening as I was mixin up my slaw .. Strange , but the thought hit me as I was mixing up The dressing very fast , as if I had a deadline to meet, and I thought whats the big hurry !! Slow down and take time to enjoy , because one day Ill be gone from this world ..I thought of my Loved ones gone on before , my mother in law came to mind first .. She was a great cook and she cooked many delicious meals and I was often intimidated to cook for her because she was so good at cooking .. I even ran upon some recipes in her hand writing the other day . She never made me feel inferior when it came to cookin though . And before she left this world , I had learned some very good recipes from her and still at times when I cook , Ill ask bobby , is it as good as your moms , and when he says yes , it makes me proud ...but her time came one day for her to meet her Creator .. And now all that is left of her here for her family and friends is precious memories . Back to the subject if time , time makes a change in us all as we grow older physically .. So ,I got my bible and began to read in Ecclesiastes 12: 1-8 .. It reminds us right off on verse 1....remember the creator in the days of thy youth ....Shew ... The days of my youth , only seemed like yesterday I was a young girl who could run up and down hills and never lose my breath !! Now at times just climbing a few steps makes me gasp for breath ... I couldnt wait to get out of school, get married and start a family .. 30 years FAST forward and Im a Mamaw of three of the most precious grandbabies ever ...time precious time ...... Go to the verses 2-6 and only 30 years ago described my own Mamaw ! Wow , Im now beginning some of those verses now .. As of late verse 3, the part where it says the grinders (which are the teeth) cease because they are few ... Hahahaha. Hello , I just had tooth number 5 removed and I can tell a difference in how it difficult to chew up my food ! Then in that same verse , it speaks about looking out the windows (the eyes ) being darkened .... I cant read a thing up close without my glasses and I used to make fun of my Mamaw for stretching her arms out as far as she could to hold something to read ,,, well my arms arent long enough either now !!! It goes on in the other verses describing my Mamaw and as a Mamaw myself ,, I see the onset off too !! If youve never studied those verses , check them Out and see what its talking about ... Ill even add that when I was a young teenage girl , I said I would never wear elastic waist pants or skirts .... Hello ! Elastic is the best !! Lol. Went from high heals to being afraid of heights now lol ... The verse 8 ... Says it best ,.vanity of vanities, switch the preacher , all is vanity .. So ,,, not trying to be a downer about growing old this evening and passing away , I just want I remind you and myself to slow down and enjoy the time we have upon this life , enjoy our family and friends ,, time wont wait on no one , but we can sure pass up the simple things in life that really are the most important things in life. Im gonna try to even slow down when Im mixing up the slaw next time , goodness knows I cant eat it that fast , especially right now since I have another hole in my head !!! Lol. Take time to pray and read Gods word and be a doer not a hearer only ... One day , soon , we wont be able physically to do the things we once could. Most importantly , if youve not taken the time to give your heart to Jesus , do so today ,,because time is not promised to any of us and one day , time will be no more and it will either be spent in one endless day in heaven or hell .....
