Thinking about Mom- My mom passed away on April 13, 2004 , ten months and ten days after my dad passed on June 23, 2003. On December 31, 2003, my mother suffered bilateral deep brain strokes ... Unconscious and unable to communicate in any way for weeks and weeks on end. Upon regaining consciousness, God gave us Our Mom, Our GiGi , a little more time to share with her, in a very unique way . She lived those last few months of her life happy and awake , though in alternate states of being ~ sometimes in the past, sometimes in the future ,( as she would have imagined it), and sometimes all times of her life mixed up and playing out before her all At once- during her last months with us . All things blended together. It was a true Gift from God to spend these last moments of her time , with her . I will NEVER forget that day in the emergency room, December 31, 2003, six months after her husband , my father, had passed, she suddenly awoke in a star of clarity and looking straight into my eyes, deep into my heart and soul and said, Missy, are you going to be alright? First your father, and now this with me and back into unconsciousness she went. TODAY, August 18, 2014, I would like to tell my mother ~ Yes Mom, I am Okay......
